A Message from Katsuhito Ishii about “Kaorider-T” |

--The Origin of Kaorider-T -- The Kaorider-T began when I needed to design the costumes myself for the NEW HAL&BONS, a sequel of HAL&BONS, idea came up. I thought, if I had to design it, I might as well dress them(HAL and BONS) in what I would want to wear. Since there was no plans of making T-shirts at that time, I designed them freely. |

--What is the Kaorider character? -- I made the Kaorider as a popular animation character in the Himatama planet where HAL and BONS live. They are devil racers of hell that human pilots and devil engineers make a team and race to be free from hell prison. The team (devil and human) that wins is the only one who will be free from hell prison, so it's a desperate race. |

--“A T-shirt that I want to wear”of Katsuhito Ishii-- What I had in mind when designing the Kaorider was the sort of the ‘all silk-screened' T-shirts that surfers and hippies in the 70s wore. One day, I showed my T-shirt design to a stylist and she said “The illustration even goes until the shoulders. You can't make them, it'll cost too much” But there was no way I was compromising my idea.

--Special features -- I was very particular about the texture, the right dye of the illustration, even until to the sewing thread, but the most important factor was the comfortableness of it. The staff and I tried wearing it many times and eventually ended up making an original pattern.

| --The ‘Recommended look' by director Ishii-- My most recommending look is the “Rotten” look! Wear it many times, wash it many times, even color it with your own taste to wear it like a worn out work clothes.

--A message to everyone -- It is slightly pricey for a T-shirt, but the (manufacturing) cost is not the same as a typical T-shirt! For those kids out there, don't forget to consult with your parents before you buy them!! I plan to come up with more different Kaorider-T shirt character, so don't forget to check it out! ! |
